Alien went away during the early evening hours of July 9th, 1998 and never returned.  We still don't know what her fate was. I can only hope that it was free of pain.
Alien and I in the Captains Chair - 1996
Alien was born in February 1984 (under the sign of Aquarius).  At the time, I was single and living in an apartment where I was not allowed to have pets.  Finally, I couldn't stand being without an animal companion and decided to break that condition of my lease.   I never (honestly) broke others!

Of the entire litter, she's the one which came toward me and that was the sign I needed to adopt her.  As we pulled into the drive of the apartment,  the song 'Illegal Alien' was playing on the radio and I looked at this little ball of claws and fuzz and said, "That's what you are - an illegal alien".

The name stuck and she doesn't seem to mind what you call her as long as you call her for dinner . . . . .

She was a trusting friend for all that time.
It has been said of the three animals first domesticated by humans -

The dog looks up to man.
The cat looks down on man.
The pig regards man as equal.
